Identity Design : Onuko Sushi Restaurant
This Identity project was created for a high-end modern sushi restaurant in
Boston called onuko. The traditional form of Saki (salmon) sushi was used as the
owner felt it was the most recognizable in color and form. Although traditional
Saki does not have a seaweed wrap around it, this symbol uses the marking to
reinforce the perception of sushi to those individuals who don't traditionally
dine out at sushi restaurants.
The "n" and "u" of the name where combined to show unity, and create an image of the process of rolling sushi. Using a modern san-serif typeface was also key implying the restaurant has a less traditional and more modern menu combinations.
